아폴론오디오의 시작은 약 2평도 안되는 작은 창고나 다름없는 사무실에서 시작이 되었습니다.
1985년
I worked as a sales clerk at a hi-fi audio store, and after work, I returned to a cramped lab, holding onto dreams and hopes of developing audio equipment. Though my appearance as I chased tomorrow’s dreams with the passion and hope of my twenties was humble, seeing myself that way only strengthened my determination. The path I’ve traveled fueled solely by passion was materially very difficult, but with nothing but willpower, I pressed forward toward my dreams, giving up everything else in life.
1990년
After quitting my job and opening a vacuum tube audio sales shop, I spent my days handling sales and my nights working in the development lab. One day, I found myself at a crossroads. The question was whether to focus on maximizing measurement data values like an OP-AMP, or to develop a sound that, regardless of the product’s data numbers, moves the heart and emotions through the music you hear. I spent a lot of time reflecting on this question posed to me, and in the end, I chose the latter, looking forward to what tomorrow brings.
1991년
We developed a tournament game using an interstage transformer and plan to release and sell a prototype without any branding. We also spent a lot of time deliberating over the XLR input, captivated by the appeal of semiconductor components. Semiconductor devices using OP-AMPs were very attractive from a developer’s perspective because they reduced production costs and allowed for smaller product sizes, which meant fewer internal space constraints. This made it difficult to give up on them easily, leading me to hold them in my hands and ponder deeply for a long time. In the end, my decision was to completely exclude semiconductor components for the sake of the consumer, marking the founding year of our product development. That conviction remains unchanged to this day.
1994년
We took our first step in producing products under the brand called ulsound (ultimate sound).
1996년
To focus on product manufacturing and development, we closed the audio shop and moved out of a small, warehouse-like lab of about 1.5 pyeong (approximately 5 square meters) to rent a 25-pyeong (about 82.5 square meters) apartment. By concentrating on product development and production thereafter, we were able to overcome the economic crisis during the IMF period.
1998년
During the IMF era, we launched the Rainbow preamp, which became the foundation of Apollon Audio's design.
2002년
A key feature of Apollo Audio’s development is that while we place great importance on measurement equipment data, we ultimately determine rankings for all components through tournament-style testing. For over ten years, we have also repeatedly conducted persistent blind listening tests in multiple rounds. Immersed in this conviction, I experienced such extreme stress that acquaintances at the time sadly warned me that a “shadow of death” was looming over me and urged me to stop working. However, I focused solely on realizing the ultimate sound I held in my heart, and those small achievements came together to lead to the release of the Noble series products. While those around me were concerned about my deteriorating health, for me, it was an unparalleled thrill and joy.
2006년
To develop a high-quality product, we relocated our development lab deep into a remote mountain area and equipped it with a large audio music room, fully immersing ourselves in product development. For nine years, we lived day by day in the mountains of Yangpyeong—the coldest and most humid region in South Korea—coexisting with nature while honing our imagination and intuition, dedicating ourselves deeply to audio development and experimentation. Through this process, we laid the foundation for technical data that captures the emotional quality of sound over time.
2010년

With new beliefs and hopes, we relocated our workshop to Seoul and changed the brand name from 'ulsound' to 'Apollon.' The reason for changing the brand name was based on the advice of a marketing expert.

2021년
The sound characteristics in 2021 were designed to maximize a sense of openness while simultaneously emphasizing both brightness and richness. However, various variables arose depending on the electrical quality environment of the audio room, which became an opportunity for further evolutionary improvements. It was 21 years of progress toward greater perfection, and moving forward, the history of Apollon Audio will be recorded by customers around the world.
